Jesse Tiralla, MSW, LCSW
Jesse Tiralla is a licensed clinical social worker, who grew up in Calvert County, MD, earning his masters degree in social work at Salisbury University in 2017.
Mr. Tiralla's work history includes several years at the Calvert Memorial Hospital psychiatric unit, working with patients experiencing acute depression, anxiety, and crisis. Mr. Tiralla has also worked for Calvert County Behavioral Health inside the Calvert County Detention Center since 2017, providing treatment for clients experiencing addictions and trauma-related disorders, and specializing in treatment for childhood trauma.
Mr. Tiralla would describe himself as an eclectic therapist, trained in the practice multiple evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Positive Psychology, Motivational Interviewing, Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM). Mr. Tiralla is currently participating in an intensive, year-long training in the use of Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS), and has begun using that model with clients as well. Additionally, Mr. Tiralla is experienced in guiding individuals through the use of mindfulness techniques, as well as the impact of diet and physical exercise on mental health.
Mr. Tiralla is interested in helping clients from a person-centered, trauma-informed, holistic perspective. This means collaborative, client-driven treatment, identifying a strategy based on what works for each unique individual, and acting as a guide rather than a manager. It is a perspective that considers each client's unique life experiences, both their mental and physical health, and the environment they live in as well as their spiritual outlook. Mr. Tiralla's practice and perspective is also informed by the understanding that every client brings their own strengths and resources, and that every individual is the primary source of their own capacity to heal and thrive.
Mr. Tiralla is personally passionate about outdoor recreation, nutrition, exercise, philosophy, mindfulness, and learning new things, and is motivated by the opportunity to help others first and foremost
